Yes, it is true, this Tuesday night REM will be inducted into the hall on their first year of eligibility (after your first record is 25 years old).
This is a great site done by the Athens Georgia newspaper that has everything REM.
Also, where I heard about this at was the famous murmurs.com. I will be watching knowing how many concerts I have seen over the years ( i am going to guess at least 20+ times). The first time I saw them was in the spring of 1985 at the MIT ice ring.
