Amazon's mechanical turk

Basically Mechanical Turk is a website run by Amazon that quotes tasks globally for very small money. People bid on doing the tasks and after it is completed they get paid electronically.
I do not know where Amazon is going with this but I feel it is going to take off. Many Mom and Pop shops will take many simple electronic tasks (sorting, tagging, etc) and use the service instead of hiring a local person ~ for example summer teens. I think this is a totally flattening of the world of business. The issue is to break down jobs into small tasks - after that is done and posted on the site, it is only a matter of time before someone in a lower economic area will do the job. I think nothing can be done about this site - it is the evolution of business.. Always get the lowest task done for the lowest amount.
