Wind power from a kite

I have been interested in wind power for a while now and I have seen some of the large wind farms out in eastern Washington state, so this idea is right out of left field. This article in the Economist (saw this on boing-boing) talks about a flying kite that will generate power for less money then regular power. the guy who is behind this idea is no slouch , the article says he use to break codes in WWII.
A very interesting read - who knows, this could solve a lot of problems.
